Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why do groups pay to use school facilities?  
    Response: Access to facilities involves added costs such as utilities, cleaning, consumable supplies, safety and security measures and additional wear and tear.   These costs are absorbed by the regular classroom if they are not charged back to the user.
  2. Where does the revenue from facility rental go?  
    Response: The revenue from rentals goes back to the General Fund to replace consumable supplies, and maintain the facility.

Fundraising and Tournaments

Class A
Groups are responsible for personnel costs related to the event.  No facility rental charges.

Class B or Resident / Youth / Non-Profit
There is a charge for these community groups within District 16 boundries for tournaments and fund raising events.  Groups are responsible for facility rental charges and personnel charges are applicable.  Groups qualify as resident when 75% of the team sponsoring are district residents.

Spring Lake park Schools Booster Organizations masy be eligible for a 50% discount - dependent on the number of District Employees in a coordinating / managing role at the event.

Class C or Non-Resident / Non-Profit Other / For-Profit
There is a charge for the following groups and any other activity not listed in the above categories.

  • For-profit organizations and businesses
  • Non-school district groups. 25% or more non-resident participants
  • Private family functions
  • Faith organizations contracting for service use
  • Political conventions
  • Other
